Verizon VoiceWing Review   08-31-2006

Verizon is one of the most respected names in the business world, unfortunately they have not perfected the VOIP aspect of their business yet.  Even though Verizon has lowered their price considerably to $24.95/mo., they still fall short in features compared to some of their competitors. Our biggest complaints are; the 1 year contract required, $19.95 cancellation fee, and higher international rates. Overall, Verizon offers an inferior product at a more expensive price with less features.

Packet8 Review   07-20-2007

Packet8 is another respected voip service provider. Packet8 provides unlimited calling plans for residential and business users for $16.58/month. Packet8 has some of the lowest international rates available and provides you with more features then most competitors. We have found that VOIP.com and ITP offer a better overall product. If you are transferring your service over from SunRocket we recommend using one of these providers.

Lingo Review   09-11-2006
Lingo

Lingo offers great plans at very appealing prices for frequent international callers. However, you will have to deal with somewhat inconsistent call quality. We have received a lot of negative feedback from Lingo users in the past. We have heard it is getting better.Â

myPhoneCompany Review   10-31-2006
signup

myPhoneCompany is another VOIP provider that cant really compete with SunRocket, Packet8, ViaTalk, and Vonage.Ă‚ In our tests, we found the voice/sound quality to be inferior to that of other voip providers.Ă‚ The one thing myPhoneCompany does offer that we like, is their international plan that allows unlimited calling to 21 countries and anywhere in the U.S. for only $34.99.Ă‚ If you plan on doing a ton of calling to some of these countries, then myPhoneCompany might be a good choice.

myPhoneCompany Features Included: Voice Mail, 911 Service, Caller ID, Caller ID Block, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, 3-Way Calling, 69 Last Caller Info, Manage Account Online, Keep your old phone number, Choose your area-code, Virtual Numbers, Do not disturb option, and Anonymous Call Block, and Free Unlimited calls to other myPhoneCompany members

Pros = 1.Ă‚ Good unlimited international plan 2. 14 day money-back guarantee

Cons = 1. $24.99 set-up fee 2. No FREE Trial 3. Voice quality is not that great 4. More complicated to use and set-up then most other VOIP providers

Residential Rate Plans Available (unlimited minutes): $24.99/month (no contract necessary)Ă‚ or $34.99 for unlimited minutes in the U.S./Canada and 20 other countries. Business Rate Plans Available: $34.99/mo. for 500 minutes and 2.5 cents for every additional minute with fax line or $44.99 for unlimited minutes to US/Canada with fax line

SunRocket Review   07-28-2007
SunRocket, Inc.

Important Update: SunRocket has gone out of business! All money paid to SunRocket is lost.Â

Warning! If your Sunrocket phone is still working then you are one of the lucky ones. It will not last much longer. Yesterday when we pressed 0 from our SunRocket line, it said - Welcome to TeleBlend. This company was started July 17th of this year (the day SunRocket went under) by Unified Communications Corp of Singapore. When you go to the TeleBlend website and click on the About Us page it says differently. However, the copyright at the bottom of the page says Unified Communications Corp? Fishy! We do not recommend using this company. TeleBlend is not going to honor any money you paid to SunRocket. They say they are a totally different company. You have no commitment to them and should not use them. We advise all SunRocket customers to transfer their numbers over to one of the top rated providers listed above before your phone goes completely dead.

We have reason to believe that TeleBlend might have been started by old SunRocket execs.Ă‚ They deny this, and we cant confirm it.Ă‚ Given that TeleBlend was created the day SunRocket went under...it could be true. It seems like they are trying to profit from their own demise.Ă‚ Not only is any money you paid to SunRocket lost, now they are trying to charge you again for a company they just started! Amazing.Ă‚ Do not let them get away with this.Ă‚ We recommend signing up for one of the older, more reliable VOIP providers listed above.

Update 7.28.07 - We have been getting a ton of emails from old SunRocket customers telling us that they have been able to get a refund for any months they prepaid SunRocket for and did not use.  Call your credit card company and file a claim. Good luck!Â
